We want your visit to The Surgery Center at Southwoods to be a pleasant experience. Our experienced staff will make every effort to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible.

There are also some things you'll need to do to prepare for your procedure. In these pages, we'll tell you what you need to know, and also what to expect throughout your stay – from the moment you arrive through your discharge.

Please read through this entire section. Make sure you've read all the pages. If you have additional questions, we'll be glad to answer them. Just call (330) 758-1954 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Pre-op Phone Interview
A nurse from the Surgery Center will contact you one day prior to your scheduled procedure to obtain information concerning your health status. Please have the following information available for your pre-op call:

current medications
allergies
previous surgeries
problems related to surgery
problems related to anesthesia
specific health problems

At this time we will also inform you of your surgery time and arrival time. If you have not received your pre-op call by 12:00 noon on the day before your surgery, please contact us at (330) 758-1954, ext. 127.

Arrival Time
Please arrive promptly at your scheduled time on the day of your procedure. When you arrive, your records will be reviewed and your temperature, pulse, and blood pressure will be checked. If necessary, pre-operative lab work will be drawn at that time. You will meet your care team and you will be prepared for your procedure.
