Discharge Time
Your physician will determine when you may be released to go home. Please ensure that a responsible adult is available upon discharge to drive you.

DO NOT drive, operate machinery, take any medication not prescribed by your surgeon, or consume any alcoholic beverages for 24 hours following your surgery. Patients will not be permitted to leave the The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods alone following the administration of anesthetic medication.

It is recommended that a responsible adult stay with you for 24 hours after your procedure.

Smokers are advised not to smoke immediately after anesthesia.

After Your Surgery
You will be provided with written discharge care instructions. We will call you on the next business day after your surgery to follow up on your recovery. A survey will be given to you so that you can advise us of your suggestions for improved service.
